It's been a busy couple of weeks and I've finally found a spare moment to sit and ponder the funky smell that always seems to emmanate from the AIESEC office. Yes I'm sitting in the dark not sure whether it's making me nauseas or it's slightly comforting... home;)

EMERGENCY SEX

Anyways, I just finished Emergency Sex, an amazing book based on the real-life diaries of three UN aid workers. You know it's a good book when you're sad it's over. Even though the majority of us would never have been through or seen the events that they have experienced, it's so real that you can empathise with what they are feeling and the emotions that they are going through. All I can say is just read it!

WAIKATO LCP ELECTIONS

Congratulations to Simone, LCP elect for 06-07:) Three of us Aucklanders went down last night to suprise her. Was a great election and we shall forever hold the soup stone close to our hearts;)

It doesn't seem like that much has happened, but i guess that the smell is getting to me and I need to get out of the office=)

Real men wear pink...

Really?

I'd like to thank my flatmate Curt for inspiring this mental debate.

Reflection... sort of!

Been feeling a little lame with the postings. But I'm in a reflective mood so now's as good a time as any=)

I realised that I've been back in NZ for just over 5 weeks and really haven't sat back to take in the new scenery. Nothing is the same as last year, but it's very exciting all the same. We had our first LC meeting of the year last night. It was so good to see everybody again in an LC setting. Something feels different, but a good different and I'm really excited about the next 5 months. Have a look at the Auckland blogg

Completely different subject now, I've moved into a new place in Auckland. It's just of K-Road (the dodgey end) and overlooks the beginnings of Spagetti Junction. I've never been big on meditation (my "clear the mind button" was faulty at birth), but sitting on the deck, just as the sun is rising and watching the traffic is really soothing and gives me time to think. I never thought I'd love Auckland traffic so much! The apartment itself is little and the bathroom is bigge then my bedroom (how sad). For once I actually like my flatmates, though Curt's (self-confessed god-like paramedic) habits leave a lot to be desired and result in a lot of frustration bitching with Anna;) So yeah, that's my life since I've been back in Auckland:) Nothing exciting I know, but I thought some people may be interested in the random rambles.

Now I'm studying for an Accounting exam (don't laugh), but had a really nice weekend. It was a "ahhh, so this is why I love Auckland" kind of weekend, and they don't come along too often. We ended up at the Jazz Festival at Mission Bay and spent the evening talking and talking and a bit more talking=) Few comic moments of course like Kenny losing his shoes in search of a new love and the James Alcock adventures (you should be ashamed David... hope he doesn't read this;)). We ended the night at Chris' apartment and possibly the most comfy couch in the world! Susan summed up the night with "where else can you drink alcohol, wash it down with chinese tea while listening to rock music?" hehe, so yeah, fun times.

All in all it's good to be back and I'm really looking forward to the coming months... the 5 months I have left in AIESEC:( So, better make the most of it right???

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY MR SKY TOWER

The Auckland Sky Tower celebrated its 10th birthday yesterday. It went off with a bang! At the stroke of 10PM, there were huge fireworks coming off from the top of the tower... very impressive. It's nice to live in the city sometimes=) Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine= Amy's perfect evening;)

I still remember when they got the crane stuck on top at the end of construction=)
